Some randomly assembled Ascension feedback from my POV:
Launcher Launcher forgets added accounts by default, noticed that when I had to restart the launcher after email verification (why exactly do I need to restart the launcher for that??). Should remember the accounts (not the password) by default. Should also not have to restart the launcher after verification.
New Aura voice Holy s... The old Aura wasn't the best voice acting in world but calm and fitting to the game. The new voice is.. I really don't know how to describe it... the worst I ever heard in any game. That jumpy, pseudo-happy voice combined with the filters is 100% annoying and 100% not fitting the game. "WARP ACTIVATED OH HELL YEAH!!" That's how it sounds like. I feel real pain when listening to that, and the first thing I had to do was to deactivate it. I have no idea what you guys were thinking releasing something like that?! Please add an option to go back to the old voice ASAP!
New character window - Very unorganized and confusing. - Window size is way too small/squeezed. Tough to use when your skill queue is >1 month. Training queue should be an extra window at the right side as before. - Default setting on skills filter is unclear in the German translation at least: "Voraussetzung f++r" = "Requirement for" ... for what? Who? When? What do you want from me?? - Can no longer see how much of a specific skill was trained already towards its next level.
Fitting tool - Good to have that in the game, but much to do you have. - Unintuitive AF. Too many clicks necessary to get to what you want, which is the ship and a list of all possible modules you could add right now. That should be the default setting. Many icons don't really tell what they do, so you need to mouse-over and memorize them. - Passive shield HP regeneration is all wrong. I compared several of my old ships with the EFT values and in all cases the numbers are about half of what they actually are. - I cannot see the mining amount of my lasers and/or drones. There should be a per minute and per cycle view. - Need profiles for incoming damage for mission fitting. - Recommendation would be a great thing to have. I.E. you right-click on defense and select "Filter modules that increase passive shield defense" - Also show ship bonus in info window according to my current skills, like "+10% drone damage and HP per level (+40%)" - Add option to show ship bonus if I had a certain mastery set completed. - Module left-click should not include offline mode, because we don't offline modules on a regular basis. The button in the radial menu can handle that. - Modules should also include DPS/HPS values, i.E.: remote shield booster. - Again: German translation is sometimes very strange, example: Mining Preservation charge applies the effect "Bergbaukristall-Schwankungsbonus" = "Mining crystal sway bonus" ... what?! - "Buy all" is ignoring rigs. |

I agree on the comments towards that artificial restriction of race-type ships. Even if you see that from a new player's perspective, it's a bad thing. Let's say I invite a friend to Eve, he doesn't know which race to pick, so he picks the one he likes most. He tries a few ships then realizes that those Minmatar ships are fitting his way of playing the game much better, but he cannot train them unless he makes a Minmatar char that's ugly in his eyes.
That leaves him two options (beside subscribing): create a character that he considers ugly, or fly ships he doesn't want to fly. In both cases we have an unhappy (potential) customer. |

Pendra Tahyan wrote:Also I do agree on AURA:s new voice but it appears to be set in stone so I guess we will have to get used to it. If 100,000 people cancel their subscription because of the new Aura voice today, there will be a patch tomorrow to change it back. The only things set in stone are those that people do not complain about loud enough.
If you want to compare the old and new voice: Old: http://playground.schildwall.info/sisileaks/next_great_npe/index.1084091.php?voice=aura

Celly S wrote:so several BIOs that were built over years of playing and I can't recover them? any chance you guys will fix that? Pretty sure they made a database backup before they updated the servers including all the bios. However when they can fix it is another question. |

Jeven HouseBenyo wrote:CCPlease, I'll make you a deal. I don't get you guys. Why would you want to make a deal with someone you pay for doing something you want? That's like telling a car dealer "Ok the car doesn't work, but if you give me a free car wash I'll let it slip."
That's not how it works. You are not a slave to CCP. You are not obliged to pay for this game. It is the other way around: they are obliged to deliver a game that you consider worth paying for. You are very much allowed to make demands when you hand them your monthly fee and with that essentially pay a fraction of their salary. And if they do something that offends the majority of the players, then you politely say "Thank you, but no thanks. Now fix it." And if they refuse to change it back, you in response refuse to pay them any further. And if they realize you are serious about your demands, things suddenly change. Because: guess how many people at CCP will receive a salary in December if all players spontaneously quit. |

Anna Tomy wrote:But the drama is... interesting. I think part of the drama is the way this is forced down our throats, despite all the negative commends on SiSi. If they had made an option to revert back to the old voice, there would be a few "new Aura is bad" comments, but nothing more. The big problem however is, that CCP actually thinks that their... let me politely call it crap, is actually good, and that no one would even consider not using the new voice, or the new character sheet for that matter.
This very clearly shows two problems that are going on at CCP right now: - Lack of connection to the player base aka arrogance - Lack of ability to improve the game aka incompetence
Combining arrogance with incompetence is a guaranteed way to ruin literally everything. And I think that is fueling the current discussion: a certain fear that CCP is loosing the grip on this game once again. |

KIller Wabbit wrote:Everyone remember that the CSM signed off on many of these changes that we find lacking, confusing, broken, or just an outright step back. Do we really want CCP wasting money on misleading opinions? Don't be so sure about that. For once you don't know what version has been presented to CSM, but you can be sure it wasn't the final version. And then CCP has ignored feedback from players on such a regular basis (like all the opposition to the new Aura voice on SiSi forum), that even if all CSMs had been protesting, it still might have ended up in the final version. |
